Holiday Calls You Can Make from a Hospital Room:

The holidays might seem to be the worst possible time that you, a relative, or a close friend to land in the hospital. But they don't have to be!

Between bouts of pain, blood pressure measurements and other assorted ministrations by various nurses, you're there in the bed with just a phone and a television to keep you company (except for your visitors; yeah!)

Think about it! How many other times are you free to catch up on phone calls while you're being served meals in bed???

So, here are some examples of the types of calls you can successfully plow through -- even when hospitalized!

1) Did you try to shop on Cyber Monday and the site wouldn't let you successfully enter the credit card info for some strange reason? You've been meaning to make a call to the site, but your husband/wife/daughter/son/dog -- for whom you're buying the gift -- always seems to be about! But, not in the hospital!!

2) Are you trying to find a local store that carries copper cookware for your mother-in-law? That is, the kind that doesn't cost a few hundred dollars for a simple pot? Now's a great time to call around!

3) Been meaning to make one of those seemingly hour-long calls to the insurance company, trying to find out which local dentists are actually on your plan? O.k., then, between being served lunch and dinner, there's no other activity with a higher "quality time" quotient!

Sounds Simple, but Taking Your Own Good Advice is Often Harder Than it Sounds!

Have you ever thought, "Gee, I ought to take my own advice?" Almost every day, I stop and admonish myself with some good advice from the book. It goes through my head constantly -- and often helps to redirect me to most important tasks at hand. Hope it helps, you, too.
